Summary: This study shows how the residents of the Augusta Regiment, Linhares district - ES, re-signify and rebuild their territory, after the passage of the Samarco ore sludge from the Rio Doce. It is intended to investigate from the view of the residents how the transformation process is taking place in the way of life and its activities in the face of the impacts caused by the mining company Samarco and how the community is resisting to recover their traditions and to be recognized as
affected. Field research was carried out in the community, through a
qualitative methodology, through the realization of two focus groups in order to understand the life dynamics of residents of the Augusta Regency, their struggles, organization and transformations in this territory. The analysis is based on residents' reports, reports and reports. The observation and analysis lead us to the following results: the entire communities have been hit and expropriated of their territory, culture and rights; The constant change in the way of life of the community that has an intrinsic relation with nature; The main occupation of the fishing activity was changed; the community resists through struggles and activities aimed at restoring the way of life of the Regency Village.
