Summary: This study analyzed the relation between work and health of the public servant of the Executive Power of the State of Espírito Santo, especially with regard to the characteristics of medical licenses for the treatment of own health in the period from 2013 to 2017, of the servants with graduation in Social Work. In this sense, it contextualizes the crisis of capitalism, the changes in the world of work and the relationship between work and health in Brazil, in order to analyze the regulatory framework that regulates the relationship between work and health
of the public servant of the State of Espírito Santo. The characterization
of the profile of the servers in the sample and of the respective medical
licenses offers information that contributes to reflection on the
transparency of the regulations and the invisibility of the lack of a health
care policy for the servant. The analysis of sick leave allowed to point out questions about the sickness of servants, especially those who work in health, public safety, education, penitentiary and socio-educational systems that gather 88% of the group's licenses. In the historical series it was observed a reduction of the licenses among the temporary servants, and an increase in the duration of the sick leave of the effective servants. It is possible to notice different possibilities of new studies that may collaborate for decision-making regarding the health care of the servant, especially those who are in the work fronts of Social Work.
