Syllabus: Accumulation of capital, work organization and social protection. Social security and structural crisis of capital. Social Security, State and class struggle. Bismarckian and Beveridgian influence on Social Security and its structuring principles. The contradictory relationship between the logic of insurance and care. Social Security in the Brazilian Constitution of 1988 from the axes management, financing and democratic control. The process of counter-reforms in Brazilian Social Security from 1990 to the 2000s and their impacts on management, financing and democratic control. Social security as a field of struggle and formation of critical consciences in relation to social inequality in Brazil and workers' organization.
