Summary: This research has as study object the work of Social Workers on Education Policies, particularly on Fundamental Education, in Espírito Santo's cities. It pursuits to characterize and understand the work of these professionals from the apprehension of the work category to the work process based on Subsidies to the Performing of Social Workers on 2013 Education Policies. It interviews Social Workers that work in fundamental education, identified from mapping results in Espírito Santo. It considers that the changes occurred in the last years to maintain capitalist production and reproduction interferes on the work process of the Social Services, highlighting the production restructuring, focalization, decentralization and privatization of social policies. It also considers that with the increase of expressions of social issues in schools in consequence of the enrolments increase specially in fundamental education and also the changes in Education's Policies favor the increasing insertion of Social Workers on this policy. The research's results show that the capital dynamics invades the logic of work in schools; the Social Service professionals have no understanding of the elements that structure their work process and end up answering the immediate or institutional demands; the abstract work dynamics have captured these professionals, WHERE many times the concrete work dimension is lost. Finally, we identified that the Subsidies are not incorporated to the everyday work routine of the professionals interviewed. Therefore it's necessary to advance in the theoretical/practical debate starting from the apprehension of the work category and work process particularly in the Education Policies field WHERE we deal with a contradictory space and project disputes, in which many challenges are placed so a quality work can be developed following the ethical-political orientations defended by the Social Workers category.
