Summary: This research aims to analyze the conditions of insertion of refugees and refugee seekers in the labor market in Espírito Santo, aiming to reflect on the relevance of the refugee/refugee seeker workforce for the accumulation and reproduction of capital in contemporary times. This analytical perspective shows the work reality of the refugee population in Espírito Santo (Brazil), pointing out the contradictions inherent in the capitalist social relations in which these migrants in a refugee situation are inserted, since insertion in the labor market constitutes It is a fundamental condition for the social integration of the population in a situation of refuge in the country, because without
social ties in Brazil and especially in Espírito Santo, the security of a job represents financial stability and a point of socio-employment restart. It is an analytical field that allows discussing the new economic and social bases of forced international migrations in contemporary times in Brazil due to its largest representation from peripheral countries and dependent capitalism in its modality of manifestation via refuge, analyzed as a whole and in its relation with the work. As a methodology, it was performed bibliographical research, documental research through the study of reports of the government agencies, as well as empirical research with the application of structured questionnaires and interviews. This study verified the scope of unemployment, as well as informality as a form of labor insertion and as a survival strategy throughout the labor insertion of the refugee worker and refugee seeker in the
labor market of Espírito Santo, even refugees/refugee seekers with a qualified-
specialized profile.
